Nada

May 23, 2010

Nada is a Spanish word that means zero (0).  In the United States we use this word to mean zero (0) or nothing.

If I as you how much money you have, if you do not have any money, you can answer “nada.”  If I ask you what you did this past weekend and you did nothing you can answer “nada”  .

I think this term is mostly used in the United States and not in other English-speaking countries.  I do not think they use this in England, but having never been in England I do not know.  If anybody has friends in England, maybe they can ask them and then let us all know.
