Lightin’ up

June 4, 2010

Relax.

Use this phrase with someone who is very nervous, very demanding or someone telling you what to do.  If you want to tell someone to relax say “lightin’ up.”  If you want someone to stop telling you what to do, just say “lightin’ up.”

For this to sound correct you must say “lightin” without using the “g” in “lighting.”  Say it fast and emphasis “light.”  This is a slang term and not meant to be said perfectly correct.
