Thanksgiving

November 25, 2010

Today is Thursday November 25 and this is Thanksgiving day in the United States.  This is a day when families come together and feast on turkey, ham, mashed potato’s, rolls, vegetables, cranberry fruit and pumpkin pie.  While the holiday revolves around the meal, the real heart of this holiday is family.  Families gather and enjoy each other, give thanks, and share food, stories and their lives.

Like most families in the United States, my family is separated by geography and lifestyles.  My parents have both passed away leaving just my two sisters and myself.  None of us will be able to spend this holiday together, but this will still be a holiday we will all give thanks for the family we have.

When you read this, just take a moment and give a little thanks for your family (in any way you want).

Have a happy Thanksgiving, or whatever you want to call the day.
